Course Preparation for Pilot Selection on A320
(Simulator Check)

SimLand AG has prepared many candidates at different levels for the respective assessment at various airlines (including Swiss, Edelweiss, EasyJet, WizzAir, chair) with a very high success rate.

Target Audience:

Candidates who have applied for a pilot position with an airline as ad initio, non-rated or rated pilot, captain candidate, direct entry captain.

Objectives:

Being prepared for the Sim screening respectively the Sim check with good preconditions.

Content:

The programme can resp. will be adapted individually. The basic framework, especially for non-rated pilots, is as follows:

Session 1 (approx. 2 hours)

• Welcome, introduction flight deck
• Differences in handling – small aircrafts, turbo props, jets
• Multi Crew Cockpit (MCC); explaining basic roles and task division in the MCC
• Briefings, profiles, procedures
• First practical exercises in the A320 simulator (take-off, air work, manual flying, approach, landing with/without FD and A/THR), getting used to the flight characteristics of Airbus aircrafts.
• Questions, debriefing, preparation session 2

Session 2 (approx. 2 hours)

• Questions about the preparation session 2
• Flight stages
• Practical exercises in the A320 simulator with raw data navigation (take-off, climb, VOR/NDB navigation, holding entry, holding pattern, descent, approach, landing; all normal operations)
• Introduction abnormal and emergency situation procedures
• Questions, debriefing, preparation session 3

Session 3 (approx. 2 hours)

• Questions about the preparation session 3
• Flight preparations, departure briefing, emergency briefing, approach briefing
• Priorities and tasks in abnormal resp. emergency situations
• Complete check on A320 simulator
• Questions, debriefing (eventually preparation for session 4)

Optional:

Session 4 (preparation for the psychological interview, approx. 1.5 hours)

• Questions to prepare for session 4
• Training interview
• Questions, debriefing

Special Features:

For non-rated and rated pilots as well as captain candidates 3 to 4 sessions have proven (each with theory and practical exercises).
